The Scrollback Campus Ambassadors Thought Book

Thank you for being our amazing Ambassadors and doing all the groundwork for Scrollback. Now, its your turn to be famous!

We bring to you ‘The Thought Book’, a quarterly magazine exclusively for the Scrollback Campus Ambassador’s. Here is your chance to share your ideas, achievements and stories with your counterparts from across the country.

What are we looking for:

1. Editorial Panel- A team of organizers, editors and designers that can drive the magazine. You get to choose the look and feel of the magazine, organize the content and decide which articles make the final cut! Not to mention, the chance to see your names and photographs as part of an editorial team of a national magazine, complete with a letter of recognition from Scrollback.

Scrollback Web Portal Internship

Ever since the formation of Scrollback Campus Ambassador program, we’ve been getting requests and suggestions from people asking if they could contribute to code. While the code is all available on Github and is free to play with, students were looking for something more simpler to get started with.  We’ve been thinking on how we could get Scrollbackers to contribute to code and have found out a solution-

A web portal for Scrollback!

If you or anyone you know is interested in developing a Web portal for Scrollback, let them know about this amazing opportunity! This would be considered as an official non paid internship for a 3 month duration starting from April 2015 and students would be given an official certificate among other goodies upon completion of the project. A team would be made from the shortlisted candidates and they would be responsible for the Web portal project.

Time for Scrollback Buddies to rise up the ladder and become Scrollback Campus Ambassadors

Even as volunteers, we all want to grow. As a few of our Scrollback Campus Ambassadors grow to become Mentors, we thought the time has come when our Scrollback buddies should also get an opportunity to grow. We are thus opening the application process for all our Scrollback buddies, who are willing to take more responsibilities and grow into Scrollback Campus Ambassadors.

Who are Scrollback Campus Ambassadors?

Scrollback Campus Ambassadors stand at the second level of this Campus program. Scrollback Campus Ambassadors are leaders, who are enthusiastic community builders, leading campaigns at their colleges and within their communities to encourage others to use Scrollback as well as contribute to this Open Source project.

Scrollback Campus Ambassador of the month - January

January has been one of the busiest months for the Scrollback Campus Ambassador program! The Scrollback Learning week not only kept the team busy here, but also all our Scrollbackers across the globe. We saw the most active phase of the Campus Ambassador program, during the Learning week preparations and the Learning week days.

Too many hands helped us pull this event off, but the one person who needs to be thanked specially for being exceptionally awesome during the entire month of January is Sagar Hani.

Looking back - the top 10 contributors of 2014

Since its inception in August, the Scrollback Campus Ambassador program has found several great contributors. 2014 has been a good year and without the support from all our Campus Ambassadors and buddies we wouldn't have been able to reach till here.

We take this opportunity to present to you the top 10 contributors of 2014:

[1] Gautam Sharma - The first Scrollback Campus Ambassador to have earned the title of 'Campus Ambassador of the month' in August and currently has thirty two buddies working with him. He has organized several Scrollback events including a Scrollback android app testathon.

Scrollback learning week - the first glimpse

The Scrollback learning week is an initiative by the Scrollback Campus Ambassador program, where all Scrollbackers come together to organize an entire week of online learning. The event dates, as decided with the help of all Campus Ambassadors and buddies, are 19th to 23rd of January 2015.

The event format is going to be simple. 5 days, 5 different topics to be discussed on Scrollback. Each session will be for 2-3 hours, every evening. Some domain experts will be invited to facilitate these session.

Scrollback Campus Ambassador of the month - October

Join us in congratulating Prayash Mohapatra, our amazing Scrollbacker, who has-been chosen as the 'Scrollback Campus Ambassador of the month' for October 2014.  

Prayash has not only organized several events and meet-ups in his region, he has also enrolled many new, active buddies into the Scrollback Campus Ambassador program.
Prayash has also been an awesome host during Scrollback's visit to his college in Bhubaneshwar, in the month of September.

Scrollback Campus Ambassador Leaderboard

The Scrollback Campus Ambassador program has seen great enthusiasm and support in the last two months from all our Campus Ambassadors and buddies. We sincerely thank everyone associated with the program and also all our supporters and well-wishers.

With all the love received, we, at Scrollback thought it to be the right time to leap for the next level. We will be beginning with the selection process of the first set of Scrollback regional leaders and mentors in the first week of December. To keep the selection and decision process as transparent as possible, we have decided to create a leader-board for all our Scrollback Campus Ambassadors.

Contributing to Scrollback

All the Scrollback Campus Ambassadors and buddies can choose to take up one or more of the following listed tasks:

• Graphics work:
  1. Help us create some cool Scrollback Campus Ambassador posters which can be used across all events this season.
  2. Help us create some cool Facebook cover pics, digital posters, cool logos etc for Scrollback Campus Ambassador.
  3. Help us create some cool T-shirt designs which every Scrollback Campus Ambassador and buddy can proudly wear.

For any graphics work that you want to submit, please create a google drive or dropbox folder or even a github folder of your name, add your images there and share only the shareable link with us via this form. 

Organize an event with Scrollback

Scrollback is a (IRC like) text chat service which has been successfully used as a back-channel in several Tech and Start-up conferences. At these events, Scrollback has enabled attendees to network, share and connect with the speakers. Scrollback adds to the audiences engagement with the event and the extended community by allowing contextual conversations.
As a promoter of open knowledge, Scrollback team keeps hosting events at it’s office in Bangalore and speak at conferences across the globe. The members of the Scrollback team are happy to tell you the Scrollback story, introduce Scrollback, its code-base and the technologies used to build Scrollback as a community tool.
